Test for confirmation of suspected Lupus Anticoagulants detected by LA Screen.
Test principle
The LA Confirm also directly activates FX, V and Pro-thrombin leading to the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin clot formation (DRVVT-method). LA Confirm contains added phospholipid, which neutralizes the lupus anticoagulants present. This corrects prolonged clotting times obtained with LA Screen thus confirming the presence of lupus anticoagulants. Calculate the ratio of the sample by dividing the LA Screen result (time in seconds) with the LA Confirm result. A ratio of > 1.3 confirms the presence of Lupus anticoagulant.
