Complete sandwich ELISA for the quantitative determination of von Willebrand-factor Activity (vWF:Act) in human plasma.
Test principle
The samples are incubated in micro wells coated with a monoclonal capture antibody specific for the platelet-binding region of vWF. After binding of the vWF to the capture antibody, unbound substances are removed by washing. A peroxidase conjugated detecting antibody is added and binds to the vWF/capture antibody complex. After a washing step, added enzyme substrate reacts with the conjugate. The intensity of the resulting colour is proportional to the vWF activity in the sample.
