Coagulation assay for the quantitative determination of Prothrombin Time (PT) in human citrated plasma. The lyophilised reagent is sensitive to abnormal levels of coagulation factors II, VII and X and is used for the monitoring of oral anticoagulant therapy (i.e. warfa-rin). The reagent contains rabbit brain thromboplastin and adsorbed bovine plasma as a source for the coagulation factors V and fibrin-ogen and CaCl2. Technoclot® PT Owren replaces Thrombotest und Normotest.
Test principle
Prewarm the reagent at 37°C and add the sample. Start timing of the coagulation.
